去...怎么走(qù...zěn me zǒu): used to ask for direction such as “去天安门怎么走?” (qù tiān ān mén zěn me zǒu,“去地铁站怎么走?” (qù dì tiě zhàn zěn me zǒu)
沿着(yán zhe):along. Another way to say it is “顺着(shun zhe)”. Common expressions are: “沿着淮海路开” (yán zhe huái hăi lù kāi) ,“沿着河走” (yán zhe hé zŏu).
往南(wǎng nán): 向南走 (walk towards south). “南 (nán)” is direction and other directions are “东” (dōng), (east), “西(xī)” ,(west),“北(běi)”, (north).
警察(jǐng chá):police; policeman. What you usually see in the street is traffic police.
前面(qián miàn):ahead.“前” indicates position. Other words indicating position are : “后(hòu)” (back), “左(zuǒ)” (left), “右(yòu)” (right), “中(zhōng)” (center) “上(shàng)” (upper), “下(xià)” (low).
十字路口(shí zì lǜ kǒu): intersection, crossroads. The shape of ”十” in Chinese is very similar to that of the intersection of the road , so it is called ”十字路口”.
